NEW BRITAIN, CT — A child is in stable condition after being struck by gunfire early Monday.
The incident happened Monday around 6 a.m. Police responded to the area of 48 Konstin Place after receiving reports of shots fired outside a residence, officials said.
Officers found damage to the residence consistent with gunfire, along with evidence in the roadway and parking area.
A juvenile inside a second-floor residence had been struck by the gunfire, police said.
The victim, who was alert and conscious, was taken to Connecticut Children's Medical Center for treatment. According to the city, the victim remains in stable condition. Officials did not release the victim's age.
