Very Stormy Weather Forecast For CT: Here's What You Need To Know

Meteorologists are predicting an unsettled weather pattern in the days ahead, with a chance for severe thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service predicts a partly sunny and dry day today, with the first chance for stormy weather arriving overnight tonight.

It anticipates a period of showers tonight, with a few thunderstorms possible into early Tuesday.

Both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and evenings bring chances for thunderstorms too, it predicts.

"A severe thunderstorm is possible, with a risk for localized flash flooding, especially Wednesday," the National Weather Service said. "Heavy rainfall is possible with any showers/thunderstorms, bringing the risk of localized flash flooding. The highest risk of flash flooding is Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night."

WFSB is predicting the beginning of September will be more humid and unsettled.

The station is calling both Tuesday and Wednesday "First Alert Weather Days" due to multiple chances for rain and storms.

"The first round looks to get underway late tonight and continue through tomorrow morning, prompting a First Alert for a potentially wet and stormy Tuesday morning commute," WFSB reports. "We'll likely see some improvement by Tuesday afternoon, although additional showers and storms could develop but will be more isolated to widely scattered in nature."

WFSB predicts Wednesday night into Thursday brings another chance of heavy rain. Looking ahead, its meteorologists say there is potential for another round of showers and storms on Thursday.

The National Weather Service also anticipates the unsettled weather could continue into Thursday, when there will be another chance for showers and thunderstorms.

Dry and warmer weather is in store for Friday, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s for the end of the workweek.
