PUTNAM, CT — The victims of the Saturday night motorcycle crash have been identified as two Danielson residents, including a man who was killed and a woman who was seriously injured.
Police said the operator, Jacob C. Woodmancy, 24, of Bailey Hill Road, Danielson, was pronounced deceased at Day Kimball Hospital.
The passenger, Ashley L. Hall, 24, also of Bailey Hill Road, Danielson, sustained life-threatening injuries. Police said late Monday she is in serious, but stable condition at Hartford Hospital.
Police received multiple 911 calls around 9:27 p.m. reporting a motorcycle accident near the intersection of Grove Street and Tatem Street.
Responding officers found two people with serious injuries lying in the roadway. Witnesses had started providing life saving measures, including CPR, prior to the officers' arrival, police said.
According to police, a preliminary investigation determined the motorcycle was eastbound on Grove Street when the operator lost control, crossed the center line, and crashed on the opposite shoulder. Both the operator and passenger were thrown from the motorcycle.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to contact Sgt. Stringer at 860-928-6565. Tips can also be made at 860-963-0000 or through the department's web site at www.putnampolice.com.
