A Nor'Easter could bring gusty winds and heavy rain to Connecticut later this week, according to meteorologists.
The National Weather Service says it is monitoring the potential for a coastal storm to impact the state late this week through part of the weekend.
Meteorologists as of Monday have slightly different estimates on when stormy weather could arrive.
The National Weather Service predicts it will be dry and cool through Wednesday, with gusty winds and rain possible from a coastal storm starting on Thursday, and chances increasing on Friday.
WFSB predicts it will be mostly dry in Connecticut through Thursday, with cooler than average temperatures.
"We're watching the potential for a Nor'Easter at the end of the workweek," WFSB reports. "An area of low pressure will likely develop offshore midweek, moving in our direction thereafter. It looks like winds will begin to pick up Wednesday, with rain arriving Friday into Saturday."
WFSB meteorologists said Monday there is still "uncertainty" regarding the track and timing, and the station is closely monitoring it.
"The fourth (and final) weekend of September will likely start on an unsettled note as a result of the coastal storm," WFSB reports. "As we see it now, Sunday will start to trend drier as the low pressure pulls farther away from New England."
WTNH is predicting stormy weather starting on Friday, rain and gusty winds on Friday and Saturday, and some lingering precipitation and strong winds into Sunday.
"There is the potential for a significant coastal storm or hybrid tropical system late in the week and into the coming weekend," WTNH reports. "A prolonged period of impacts between Friday and Monday with strong winds, periods of heavy rain and coastal flooding possible."
WTNH reports there is an increased potential for high-tide flooding along the shore.
