More than 30,000 Connecticut residents are without power Sunday morning as a powerful nor'easter storm will continue to impact our weather significantly for another two days.
The storm won't fully exit the state until Tuesday morning, which kicks off several days of sunshine and warmer temperatures.
But here in the moment, Eversource is reporting 28,039 outages, including Clinton, 1,591, Lyme, 1,069, Watertown, 1,223, East Haddam, 783, Killingworth, 505, Mansfield, 876, New Canaan, 954, Old Lyme, 810, Thompson, 619, Warren, 529, Waterford, 702, Willington, 501.
Other Eversouece towns reporting outages include: Bethel, 189, Canton, 164, Darien, 257, Greenwich, 377, Guilford, 313, Haddam, 302, Ledyard, 200, Madison, 458, Montville, 295, New Milford, 315, Newtown, 335, North Stonington, 348, Norwalk, 163, Oxford, 236, Portland, 271, Redding, 380, Ridgefield, 412, Stamford, 450, Stonington, 267, Weston, 409,Westport, 284, Wilton, 485, and Woodbury, 140.
United Illuminating Co. is reporting 3,775 outages, including Milford, 2,523, Orange, 461, Shelton, 198, Fairfield, 132, and Bridgeport, 116.
Eversource said, "As this slow-moving nor'easter continues to bring trees down onto our electric system and across roads throughout the state, our crews are making good progress despite the challenging conditions. We've restored more than 71,000 of our customers since the storm started, and we'll continue working around the clock assessing new damage, clearing hazards, and getting the power back on for our customers as quickly and safely as possible.
What's still to come?
More rain and thunderstorms are forecast. More than an inch of rain is forecast for Sunday. Another half inch of rain is expected on Monday too.
Winds may gust to 45 mph until noon and then begin to diminish. Winds could reach 60 mph in New London County and coastal sections of Middlesex County, according to the weather service.
A coastal flood warning is in effect for coastal sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties until 6 p.m. Sunday. A coastal flood advisory is in effect for Middlesex and New London counties until 6 p.m.
"Today remains a First Alert Weather Day as the coastal storm retrogrades toward New Jersey, bringing periods of windswept rain, strong wind gusts this morning, and the potential for coastal flooding from late morning into the early afternoon," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Wind gusts will gradually ease, but it will remain breezy with periods of rain, perhaps a storm throughout the day. An additional 1–3″ of rain is possible through tomorrow, and poor drainage flooding can't be ruled out at times."

"A Wind Advisory is in effect across the state until noon, while a High Wind Warning remains in effect for New London and coastal Middlesex counties," added WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.
"The strongest gusts appear to be behind us, but with trees still fully leafed, some limbs and branches could come down, potentially leading to additional power outages. As the morning progresses, wind gusts will gradually diminish, with significantly lower winds expected by tomorrow afternoon,"added WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.

Town of Clinton, Connecticut: Clinton made it through the storm with minor flooding, but the greatest impact came from the strong winds, which brought down trees and caused power outages throughout town. Unfortunately, some homes also sustained significant damage. Most importantly, we are thankful that no injuries have been reported."
Town of Newtown: Route 34 is closed in the area of Jordan Hill Rd for a Tree down on wires.
Naugatuck Fire Department Several trees down overnight. Wooster Street at Locust Street closed. Power line down and burning on Kingswood Road at Candee Road.
