Thief Swipes $15K Worth Of Electrical Wiring From Bristol Mum Festival Site: PD

BRISTOL, CT — A Wolcott man is accused of stealing $15,000 worth of electrical wiring from the Bristol Mum Festival site.

Lt. Patrick Krajewski said police were notified about the theft Friday around 1:49 p.m.

According to Krajewski, officers were able to get a description of the suspect's vehicle, but not the license plate.

Investigators used the FLOCK automated license plate reader system and were able to identify the vehicle and get its license plate, Krajewski said.

Police then found and arrested Charles Cosmos, 68, of Wolcott and recovered the stolen equipment. Cosmos was charged with second-degree larceny and released on a $10,000 bond, police said.

Festival organizers had started setting up for the event, but it was ultimately cancelled Friday due to the inclement weather.
