Possible Hurricane Developing: See Potential CT Impacts

A future hurricane is brewing in the Gulf. Here's how it could impact Connecticut this weekend.

Tropical Storm Isaias is forecast to become a hurricane and make landfall in the United States on Friday in the Gulf Coast.

The projected path of the storm takes Isaias through the southern and midwestern states, but Connecticut is still expected to receive some impacts from the remnants of this tropical storm.

WTNH News 8 Co-chief meterologist Gil Simmons wrote that the "remnants could be in Connecticut by later Sunday-Monday as a soaking rain event!" Simmons said that the rain may arrive by Sunday evening.

WFSB 3 TV meteorologists wrote, "As our next storm system approaches, with a tropical connection to what has become Tropical Storm Isaias, cloud cover will be on the increase as we close out the weekend. There are some timing differences, but showers could begin around or after sunset (Sunday). Monday plans? You may want to have a plan B ready as it could be wet."

Accuweather.com estimates Connecticut could see up to 2 inches of rain from the remnants of Isaias.

Before we have to deal with more rain, the forecast calls for plenty of sunshine Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
