The store is holding a closing sale, offering 40% off on apparel and 25% off grocery items. The last day will be Sunday, Oct. 18, with the store closing at 2 p.m.

"For nearly a decade in Norfolk and two years before that in Cornwall, this store has been much more than a business to us," the owners wrote on Facebook. "We've watched families grow, made friendships, shared plenty of laughs, and had the privilege of being a small part of everyday life in the community.

"We can't thank our customers, employees, friends, and neighbors enough for all the support you've given us over the years. We truly could not have done it without you."

The post had garnered over 300 reactions and 100 comments as of Wednesday morning.

"So sad to hear this news," one commenter wrote. "Your food is delicious and the store is so quaint, homie, and friendly."

Berkshire Country Store serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and "also acts as a community hub where you can relax with friends..." according to its website. The store serves coffee, sandwiches, pizza, ice cream and more.
