'Big' Storm To Impact CT's Weather: Here's What To Know

A large storm is expected to impact our weather for two days this week. Here are the new details on the forecast.

| Updated

A large storm system will be brewing off the coast of Connecticut this week, but local meteorologists predict the state will be spared the worst impacts.

Ryan Hanrahan, chief meteorologist at NBC Connecticut, said the "big" storm will move slowly.

"Locally, the only impact will be a few days of gusty wind (generally 30 m.p.h. or less) and some occasional cirrus clouds," he predicts. "Overall, it should be a nice week!"

NBC Connecticut anticipates wind gusts on Tuesday and Wednesday of up to 25 miles per hour, with sunshine and daytime highs in the 60s and 70s.

WFSB's meteorologists predict the storm off the mid-Atlantic coast will stay offshore, keeping any rain away from Connecticut.

"The main impacts across Southern New England will be some additional cloud cover and a developing breeze Tuesday into Wednesday," WFSB reports.

WTNH reports high pressure over the Northeast will interact with the "large developing ocean storm offshore."

"As of now, the storm slowly meanders through midweek giving us some passing clouds and a noticeable wind," WTNH reports. "The rain comes close, but stays just offshore through midweek."

WTNH predicts winds will gust over 30 miles per hour Tuesday through Thursday because of it.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a dry week through Sunday, with daytime highs in the low to mid-60s through Thursday, and the upper 50s to around 60 for Friday through Sunday.
