Big E Offering Unprecedented 'Lifetime Golden Ticket'

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA — The Big E plans to come back in "grand fashion" for 2021 with a promotion Willy Wonka would be proud of — a "Golden Ticket" that will serve as a lifetime pass.

The promotion is unprecedented in the New England fair's history that dates back more than a century.

"I wanted to personally alert you to what may be the boldest, biggest promotion in the 104-year history of The Big E, as we plan a grand return of the Fair in 2021 – the sale of Golden Ticket Lifetime Passes to the Fair for just 100 lucky customers," Big E President and Chief Executive Officer Eugene J. Cassidy said in a letter to the public sent Monday.

The Golden Ticket, priced at $1,000 will offer lifetime admission to The Big E for its holder and an accompanying guest, along with free parking and a host of "annual surprises and benefits." The signature at the bottom of the ticket is "Winnie Wonka."

"It is a lifetime of wonder for its purchasers and their guests, offering years and years of the Fair as a VIP forever," Cassidy said.

"The Golden Ticket will be sold on the fair's website – www.TheBigE.com – starting Wednesday at 10 a.m. until the 100 tickets are gone.

"This is the time of year we typically put one fair to bed and begin the long, exciting road to the next one," Cassidy said. "With the unfortunate derailment in 2020, we are fully committed to making the 2021 edition our greatest yet. I can think of no better way to get underway with style and sizzle than with this Golden Ticket promotion."

Last month, the Big E made another big splash with the announcement of a headline concert with country music superstar Brad Paisley.

Purchased tickets will be delivered to recipients in time for the holiday gift-giving season, Cassidy said.
