“The bipartisan infrastructure bill includes some big wins for the environment — and for Connecticut’s ability to adapt to a changing climate.

“We are especially excited to see more than $100 million for protecting Long Island Sound, including funding for wetlands restoration and pollution reduction. The bill also adds $1 billion to FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities grant, which will help Connecticut tackle the sort of climate-resilient infrastructure projects we need to withstand rising seas and fiercer storms.

“We thank Senators Blumenthal and Murphy for their work on behalf of Connecticut and for helping pass this bill out of the Senate. We look forward to working with Connecticut’s congressional delegation to secure passage in the House of Representatives and deliver these much-needed policies to President Biden’s desk.”
