Body Recovered From Rubble After Home Explodes In CT Town: Reports
The explosion, which completely destroyed a home, could be heard from two miles away, according to reports.
BLOOMFIELD, CT — A body was found following a house explosion and fire in Bloomfield on Monday night, WFSB 3-TV reported.
The explosion occurred on Banbury Lane around 6 p.m.
By Tuesday morning, all that remained of the home was rubble. The explosion could be heard from two miles away, WFSB 3-TV reported.

Neighbors said an elderly man lived in the home, which was consumed with flames and plumes of smoke after the explosion.
The person's identity is not being released pending notification of the family.

About 400 people in Bloomfield lost power Monday night. Electricity was restored by Tuesday morning, WTNH News-8 reported.
Neighbors said there was a loud "boom," then the power went out, and they left their homes to find chaos outside.
The Department of Public Works, Buildings and Land Use, Connecticut Natural Gas, and Eversource responded to assist with the incident.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
