Bolton Teen Hurt In UTV Crash In New Hampshire
New Hampshire officials say the accident happened Sunday on a trail in Milan, N.H.

Two teenagers, one confirmed to be from Bolton, will be OK after suffering injuries in a New Hampshire utility terrain vehicle accident on Sunday.
According to the New Hampshire Fish & Game Department Monday morning, state law enforcers learned of a UTV accident on a trail in Milan, N.H.
State officials said the UTV rollover involved a single UTV and two occupants, with the adult operator identified as Nicholas Werhle, 18, from Bolton, Conn. The passenger was a 13-year-old female.

State officials said members of the Milan Fire Department (MFD), Berlin, N.H., Fire Department (BFD), as well as emergency medical services personnel from Berlin EMS responded.
"Based on information gathered at the scene, it appears that the operator lost control of the UTV after failing to negotiate a tight turn. As a result, the UTV subsequently rolled over and the passenger sustained minor injuries," reads a N.H. Fish & Game department release issued Monday morning.

"The rollover only caused minor damage to the UTV and it was able to be driven from the scene."
EMS personnel from Berlin transported the passenger by ambulance to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for further evaluation and treatment.
Both the operator and passenger were wearing a helmet, eye protection, and seat harness, which likely prevented more serious injuries, said the State of New Hampshire.
N.H. state officials said this is an example of how UTVs can be dangerous and that proper safety protocols should be practiced.
"When out recreating on the trails, riders must be mindful of trail conditions, potential hazards, and other trail users. It is critical to operate within your own limits while understanding that the trails are being used by both novice and experienced riders," the N.H. Fish and Game Department said.
