Brackets Announced For CIAC High School Football Playoffs

CONNECTICUT —Regular season play has concluded, the Thanksgiving rivalry games have been played and many athletes are beginning to prepare for winter sports. However, the real football season is about to begin for four dozen schools who will participate in the CIAC playoffs beginning Tuesday.

Eight teams qualified in each of six divisions, and will commence quarterfinal action Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. All semifinal games are scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 3 at 12:30 p.m., and the finals are slated for Saturday, Dec. 9.

Here are the first-round matchups in each division:

CLASS LL

• No. 6 New Britain at No. 3 West Haven
• No. 5 Southington at No. 4 Manchester

CLASS L

• No. 7 Killingly at No. 2 New Canaan
• No. 6 South Windsor at No. 3 Maloney
• No. 5 Shelton at No. 4 Newtown

CLASS MM

• No. 8 Bunnell at No. 1 Windsor

• No. 6 Platt at No. 3 Wilton

CLASS M
