Driver In Fatal Crash Into Home ID'd By State Police
A driver who died after his pickup truck slammed into a Killingly home has been identified.
KILLINGLY, CT — A driver is dead after crashing into a home in Killingly late Wednesday night, according to state police.
Troopers responded to a report of a car striking a home on Hartford Turnpike at 10:20 p.m.
Matthew Sherman, 42, of Foster, RI, was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

State police said Emil was driving a GMC Sierra pickup truck on Route 101 in the area of Valley Road and failed to negotiate a curve.
The truck left the road, then struck several mailboxes, a street sign, and a home.

The house on Hartford Turnpike had "catastrophic damage." The home was unoccupied at the time, state police said.
The state Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad assisted with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
The road was closed but has since reopened.
