Champions Crowned At State Wrestling Class Meets
Two schools successfully defended their 2018 titles, one was victorious for the first time in a decade, and a fourth won its first title.

There was plenty of action and excitement Friday and Saturday at the CIAC state wrestling championships meets, held at four locations throughout the state. When all was said and done, two teams had won rather handily, while two others prevailed by the slimmest of margins.
Danbury won the Class LL title for the fourth straight year, compiling 250 points to 210.5 for Trumbull. In Class M, Killingly won its first title since 2009 with 202.5 points, easily outdistancing runner-up Foran's 161.
Bristol Eastern barely managed to edge Simsbury for its third straight Class L crown, notching 204.5 points to edge the Trojans by half a point. Likewise in Class S, Gilbert had 193.5 points to nip Montville, which had 190.

It doesn’t get any closer than this. Literally. Tough pill to swallow but congratulations to Coach Lish and his Bristol Eastern wrestlers. What a weekend. Congratulations to coach Silva and the boys for a fun weekend. #TrojanStyle pic.twitter.com/WD8pbKmrKr
