CONNECTICUT— Local franchisees and McDonald’s company restaurants expect to hire approximately 2,387 restaurant employees in Connecticut this fall, officials said Thursday.

Part-time after-school jobs and full-time positions are available, officials said.

"I’m most proud of our employees. The ones we’ve trained from the ground-up — teaching them about the business, showing them the skills needed to be a successful crew member," said Aneka Young, a McDonald's owner/operator. "These are invaluable lessons that will provide extraordinary growth opportunities for them to achieve their professional dreams."

Staffers at McDonald’s also have the opportunity to further their education like earning a high school diploma, taking ESL classes, tuition assistance and free guidance from advisers through Archways to Opportunity, McDonald’s signature education and career advising program. To date, McDonald's eateries across New England have given out more than $590,000 in tuition assistance this year and supported more than 280 restaurant workers throughout the region, officials said.
