Connecticut and all other New England states ranked high on a list of states with the most vaccinations, according to a study.

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut is ranked 10th in the country in vaccination rates, according to personal finance website WalletHub.

Connecticut ranked seventh in vaccination rates for children and teenagers and 15th for vaccination rates among adults and the elderly.

The study notes that vaccines are "some of the most valuable contributions to modern medicine," noting that they have drastically reduced the prevalence of diseases like polio, tetanus, measles, and chickenpox.

WalletHub also said that vaccines "are most effective when a large portion of the population gets them, so it’s important to make sure people are educated about the importance of vaccines and how much good they have done for public health."
