This Connecticut Restaurant Among OpenTable's 'Most Romantic'

CONNECTICUT — Just one restaurant in Connecticut has been named to the online reservation service OpenTable’s list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants In America for 2023.

OpenTable released the list in time for Valentine’s Day celebrations — or, for those who prefer, Galetine’s Day and Palentine’s Day alternate holiday celebrations.

In Connecticut, only Ballo Italian at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville made the cut.

Pro Tip: If you plan to celebrate at Ballo Italian, make your reservations now. Last year, more than half of the restaurants on the list were booked by Feb. 7, according to OpenTable.

According to the restaurant's website, "Ballo Italian, a 16,000 square foot masterpiece within Mohegan Sun, is a work of passion for John J. Tunney III..." The restaurant features "fresh, authentic menu of Italian favorites and new creations."

"The cathedral-like rooms feature authentic Italian fixtures, exotic fabrics and dramatic lighting with one of largest Carrara Marble bars ever built as the centerpiece," Ballo Italian's website states.

OpenTable analyzed more than 13 million U.S. diner reviews to develop the list, according to a press release. The list includes restaurants from 27 states, with California leading the list with 13 restaurants. Arizona has nine restaurants on the list, and Florida and Hawaii each have eight.
