Connecticut’s 2025 Sales Tax-Free Week Details Released: Here's When, What You Need To Know

Gov. Ned Lamont released details about the state's sales tax-free week. Here's everything you need to know about the popular program.

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut will hold its annual Sales Tax-Free Week from Aug. 17 through Aug. 23, Gov. Ned Lamont announced Monday.

During the weeklong event, most clothing and footwear items priced under $100 will be exempt from the state sales tax. The exemption applies to each eligible item, regardless of how many are purchased in a single transaction.

Lamont said the program offers residents extra savings during the back-to-school shopping season. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of these savings and, as always, support our many locally owned small businesses,” he said.
