Connecticut Winners Emerge At New England Wrestling Championships
Five high school wrestlers from the Nutmeg State won individual titles and 20 others placed in the top six Saturday in Providence.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Five Connecticut wrestlers won individual titles and 20 others were placewinners Saturday in the New England high school wrestling championships.
Danbury captured the team championship with 88.5 points, 17 more than runner-up Bishop Hendricken of Warwick, R.I. Fairfield Warde placed sixth with 53.5 points, while New Canaan tallied 50 points to wind up seventh.
Connecticut champions were Ryan Jack, Danbury, 126 lbs.; Sean Johnson, Ellis Tech, 138; Tyler Sung, New Canaan, 145; Hunter Adams, Suffield/Windsor Locks, 152; and Carson Licastri, Joel Barlow, 182. Johnson was voted the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
