Coronavirus Cases Exceed 30,000 In CT As Hospitalizations Rise
Connecticut is looking to slowly reopen on May 20 but the latest data raises some concerns as hospitalizations rose over the past 24 hours.

CONNECTICUT — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Connecticut has now exceeded 30,000, according to the latest data shared by the state Department of Public Health. Gov. Ned Lamont also announced that net hospitalizations went up for the first time in nearly two weeks with a net increase of 36 patients.
Another 648 lab-confirmed positive coronavirus cases were announced out of 3,313 tests. Lamont said that the ratio of positive to negative tests was good news. Unfortunately there were another 77 deaths as well.
There are now 30,621 confirmed coronavirus cases in Connecticut and 2,633 deaths have been reported. A total of 1,500 people are currently hospitalized. Connecticut had a drop in hospitalizations everyday since April 23.

- Fairfield County 12,360 confirmed cases; 935 deaths; 519 hospitalizations
- Hartford County 6,351 confirmed cases; 804 deaths; 369 hospitalizations
- Litchfield County 1,065 confirmed cases; 95 deaths; 24 hospitalizations
- Middlesex County 734 confirmed cases; 95 deaths; 42 hospitalizations
- New Haven County 8,337 confirmed cases; 610 deaths; 504 hospitalizations
- New London County 681 confirmed cases; 45 deaths; 34 hospitalizations
- Tolland County 502 confirmed cases; 43 deaths; 7 hospitalizations
- Windham County 223 confirmed cases; 4 deaths; 1 hospitalizations

The concerning news is that hospitalizations increased in Fairfield, New Haven and Hartford county and those numbers had been consistently dropping for nearly two weeks.
