CONNECTICUT — Best Buy locations in Connecticut and across the country have issued a safety recall for nearly a million pressure cookers which they say could cause harm to consumers.

The recall applies to 930,000 Insignia Multi-Function Pressure Cookers that were sold from Oct. 2017 to June 2023, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada announced.

Specifically, the inner pots that come with the pressure cookers — or sold separately — have incorrect volume markings. "This can cause consumers to overfill the pot and hot food and liquids to be ejected when the pressure cooker is vented using the quick release method or opened while its contents are pressurized, posing a burn hazard to consumers," officials said.
