CT Coronavirus Hospitalizations Grow By Nearly 100 Over Weekend
Connecticut is on track to break 100,000 coronavirus cases by the end of the week.
CONNECTICUT — Connecticut is on track to break 100,000 coronavirus cases by the end of the week after the state recorded another 4,639 cases over the weekend. The positive test rate over the weekend was 5.38 percent.
Coronavirus hospitalizations once again rose this weekend with a net gain of 98 patients, for a total of 757 hospitalized. The state hit a peak of about 2,000 hospitalizations around April 22.
Hospitalizations increased the most in Fairfield County, with a net gain of 54 patients over the weekend. The county now has 230 people hospitalized. New Haven County saw a gain of 24 patients, for a total of 285 currently hospitalized.

The state also recorded 22 new deaths over the weekend. A total of 4,759 have died since the pandemic began.
