CT Coronavirus Positive Test Rate Highest Single-Day Level

The positive test rate for one day was higher than nine percent. At the same time hospitalizations saw a large decrease.

CONNECTICUT — The latest coronavirus figures for Connecticut were a mixed bag of good and bad news. There was a large drop in hospitalizations, but the state also had its highest single-day positive test rate in months.

There was a net drop of 59 hospital patients between Tuesday and Wednesday, which brought the total number of people currently hospitalized for coronavirus to 1,167. Hospitalizations saw a rise in the first part of December, but they have returned to early December levels.

However, the state also reported around 1,700 new cases and a daily positive test rate of 9.14 percent. The positive test rate is the highest for a single day during the second coronavirus wave in Connecticut — it is however just a single day worth of data.
