CT Coronavirus Updates: 2 More Deaths As Cases Tick Upward
The number of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in Connecticut is also on the rise.
CONNECTICUT — The State Department of Public Health reported two more coronavirus-related deaths and 460 new cases, as communities prepare to relax venue capacity restrictions for Phase 3 of Connecticut's reopening next week.
With 33,808 new tests taken, the DPH is reporting a positivity rate of just under 1.4 percent, a 0.4 percent drop from the previous day's reckoning
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 is 110, up by three beds.

On Friday, Gov. Ned Lamont said that coronavirus infection rates in Connecticut had "ticked up a little bit over the past few weeks," but that New York and Massachusetts had seen spikes as well.
On Thursday, the DPH issued a COVID-19 alert for Norwich due to a recent spike in new cases in the last two weeks. Between Sept. 13-26, Norwich recorded at least 84 new COVID-19 cases to raise the daily case rate to 24 per 100,000, the highest rate in the state.
