CT Coronavirus Updates: Positive Test Rate Declines
As we head into Thanksgiving there is some good news concerning newly released coronavirus figures for Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — As we head into Thanksgiving the one piece of good coronavirus-related news is the fact that the positivity test rate is declining this week in Connecticut. Over the past 24 hours, 540 new cases were reported out of 13,200 tests, which equates to a 4.1 percent positivity test rate.
On Friday, the positivity test rate was near 7 percent. Since the pandemic began, 107,280 coronavirus cases have been reported in Connecticut. Hospitalizations are at 891 and there was an increase of 16 and ten more deaths were reported.

The age group with the most confirmed cases in Connecticut is 20-29 year olds with 18,502; then 30-39 year olds with 16,646; then 50-59 year olds with 16,385; then 40-49 year olds with 14,834; then 60-69 year olds with 11,714; then 10-19 year olds with 9,321; then 80 and older with 8,891; then 70-79 year olds with 6,971; and then 0-9 year olds with 3,972.

Number of COVID-19 deaths by age groups:
Of the 4,881 COVID-related deaths, 2,905 have involved people older than 80; 1,065 are people between 70-79; 611 are people between 60-69; 203 are people between 50-59; 67 are people between 40-49; 23 are people between 30-39; 5 are people between 20-29; and 2 people under the age of 20.
