CONNECTICUT — The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 has steadily fallen over the past few weeks.
There were 363 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Thursday, a drop of 26 patients from the prior week. Last week, hospitalizations had also dropped 26 patients from the prior week.
The state reported 2,479 cases over seven days. The weekly positive test rate dropped from 8.29 percent to 7.54 percent this week. The actual number of cases is likely higher, as many at-home positive test results go unreported.

New London County has remained at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s lowest COVID-19 community level, while all other counties continue at the medium level.
Connecticut reported another 16 COVID-19 related deaths, 23 fewer than last week. The state COVID-19 death toll stands at 11,478.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health has identified a total of 291,701 cases of COVID-19 among fully vaccinated persons in Connecticut as of Oct. 26. Those cases account for 10.49 percent of the nearly 2.8 million people in the state who are fully vaccinated.
Mixed Trends: School COVID-19 Cases
There were more reported COVID-19 cases among students, and fewer among staff, in PK-12 schools during the most recent reporting period. DPH reported 1,001 cases among students and 402 among staff between Oct. 27-Nov. 2. There were 978 cases among students and 437 among staff in the previous reporting week.
