CONNECTICUT — Two colleges in Connecticut are among the 30 most expensive higher education institutions in the country, according to a new analysis.
The analysis by The College Investor, an independent financial media outlet, is based on the institutions’ published tuition and fees for the 2024-25 school year.
The most expensive school in Connecticut, and 19th most expensive in the U.S., is Yale University in New Haven, with a published annual tuition rate of $67,250 per year. The Ivy League school has roughly 6,500 undergraduate and 5,300 graduate students, and is the third-oldest college in the United States.

Wesleyan University in Middletown came in at No. 23 on the list, with an annual tuition of $66,716. Wesleyan University has roughly 2,800 undergraduate students. The College Investor ranked Wesleyan on its 2023 - 2024 tuition price, as the school had not released the next term's fee schedule by time of publication.
College in general is expensive, but the 30 on the list are especially so. On average, annual tuition at a private school is about $41,450, but the 30 on the list cost about $65,000 a year, The College Investor said.

Most of these colleges offer generous financial aid packages, which may come in the form of scholarships, both need- and merit-based; grants, work-study programs; fellowships and student loans, the site said.
