CT Inmate Dies From COVID-19 Complications

The 57-year-old male died Jan. 9 after being transferred to a hospital from the Agency's Bridgeport Correctional Center.

A Federal Inmate under the supervision of the Connecticut Department of Correction passed away from complications related to the novel coronavirus.

Due to medical privacy laws, the name of the individual is not being released.

The 57-year-old male had been transferred from the Agency’s Bridgeport Correctional Center to an outside hospital for treatment on January 2, 2021, where he succumbed to his illnesses on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

He was admitted to the State’s prison system on September 9, 2020, and was being held for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was not serving a Connecticut sentence at the time of his death.
