CT Man Gave Worker $16K To Repair Home, Worker Never Returned: Report

The man and the worker initially agreed that the cost of the job would be $60, but the worker returned and said it would now be $16,000.

PLYMOUTH, CT — Police are seeking additional suspects after a 27-year-old Plymouth man is facing charges of scamming an elderly man out of $16,000, according to WTNH.

The man, Billy Dean Castle, approached the victim's home along with another man on June 30th and told him that his chimney needed repairs, the outlet reported. They initially agreed that the cost of the job would be $60, but Castle and the other man came back later and said that the damage had progressed and that the new cost would be $16,200.

The men were paid in advance and said they would start work the following day, but never showed up, according to the outlet.
