CT Meteorologist To Leave Station After 6 Years
A meteorologist will leave his position to join the state's Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
CONNECTICUT — Meteorologist Josh Cingranelli will leave NBC CT after six years with the station. He will begin a new position with the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
He wrote on Facebook: "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who have tuned in to watch me deliver the weather forecast over the past six years at NBC Connecticut... After much consideration, I have decided to move on to a new career path. While I will miss my colleagues and the viewers at NBC Connecticut, I am excited to start a new chapter in my life."
Cingranelli said in his new role with Emergency Management and Homeland Security, he will be "working to ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Connecticut during times of emergency and disaster."

Cingranelli grew up in southeastern Connecticut, according to his bio. He has always had a passion for winter storms and severe weather and has been a weather watcher since he was eight years old.
Cingranelli previously worked as the weekend evening meteorologist for the FOX and ABC affiliates in Burlington, Vermont.

He currently lives in Norwich, where he is a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical responder for the Lisbon Fire Department and the Yantic Fire Engine Co #1.
