CT Nursing Home To Be Shuttered After Court Order
Financial woes have prompted a judge to order a Connecticut nursing home to close, filings show.

WATERTOWN, CT — A Connecticut nursing home has filed formal closure papers following a court-order that it cease operations.
A judge on Monday ordered the closure of Trinity Terraces at 560 Woodbury Road, because financial troubles prevented the facility from operating safety, records show. The facility has 46 beds and 67 employees.
It will be shuttered by mid-May according to a notice filed wit the Connecticut Department of Labor. Layoff could start earlier, according to the filing.

"Applicable law compelled the Court to act, and we must carry out the court order. We are now
bound to assist our residents in finding new homes in preparation for the closure of this facility.
"The federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (“WARN”) requires that we
provide you with this notice at least sixty calendar days in advance of the facility’s closure. We
cannot know the exact date upon which all residents will have relocated to new homes, but the court order requires that this process be completed by May 15, 2024.
"The WARN Act assures that you will receive compensation and benefits for the full sixty days of this notice, even if the facility closes sooner, as long as you don’t resign prior to lay-off or are not discharged for cause prior to lay-off.
"Depending on the rate of discharge, we may need to scale down staff providing direct care to
the remaining residents. We will need to clean and pack up the facility during this process and may ask you to assist with particular tasks as our resident census dwindles.
"We will collaborate with the Connecticut Department of Labor to bring in resources to assist
you in preparing for future employment opportunities during the coming weeks. We will also provide you with written letters documenting your employment at Trinity Terraces in case management is no longer available to provide verbal references.
"We appreciate your commitment to our residents. We ask that you continue to remember
their needs and concerns first and reflect a positive attitude towards the future. "
