CT Police On Alert After New York City Subway Shooting
No Connecticut threat has been identified. Police are on alert near Connecticut train stations after several people were shot in Brooklyn

CONNECTICUT — State police troopers are patrolling near Connecticut train stations today after a man shot several commuters at a Brooklyn train station this morning. No threat to Connecticut has been identified, state police tweeted.
“We are responding in kind and are part of a task force with the feds down there right now,” Gov. Ned Lamont said during a news conference.
Police are especially focused on New Haven, Bridgeport and Stamford train stations, Lamont said.

Connecticut State Police said they are monitoring the situation in Brooklyn. "We're working w/state, local, fed. agencies. (Connecticut State Police) is assigned to NYC (federal) task forces. No threat identified in CT, CSP resources sent to patrol several areas, ie train stations. CSP will (continue) to monitor & proactively protect our citizens," state police said in a social media post.
At least 10 people were shot in a train at 36th Street station, and another six were injured. Five of the victims are in critical condition, NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said during a news conference.

A masked man opened a canister filled with gas as a train pulled into the station and then opened fire into the packed train, Sewell said. The man’s motive remains unknown.
New York firefighters found smoke devices at the scene. No active explosive devices were found as of early afternoon, NYPD tweeted.
Schools within a mile of the station were ordered to shelter in place.
