CONNECTICUT — Police said a person of interest in a cold-case homicide in New York state is a Connecticut resident who previously lived in Albany, according to WTNH News-8. The person was among a long list of people who could not be ruled out as being involved in the killing.

The case dates back to December 1959, when police identified 18-year-old Ruth Whitman's body, which was found along Sand Creek Road in Colonie, NY. Whitman, of Albany, died of asphyxiation and had drowned in a nearby ditch after being beaten and struck in the back of the head.
