
HARTFORD, CT — Some parts of Connecticut were hit with up to nine inches of snow Thursday night in what turned into a commuting nightmare for many folks on the road.
I-84 in Farmington and the Merritt Parkway in Stamford were closed for a period of time Thursday evening. Route 44 at Avon Mountain was closed in West Hartford and the Middletown Arrigoni Bridge was also shut down.
Fairfield Police reported 25 accidents in just the first couple of hours of the storm. Wethersfield Police were dealing with so many accidents they couldn't make it to all scenes.

The last round of snow ends late morning and then it will be dry through the weekend but some snow showers are possible late Sunday and into Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
