CT Surpasses 250,000 Total Coronavirus Cases

The state surpassed 250,000 identified cases Friday, but the infection and positive test rate continue to drop.

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut surpassed 250,000 reported coronavirus cases Friday, which is around seven percent of the state's population. The true number is higher since not every case is caught, especially during the early days of the pandemic when testing was very limited.

Connecticut reported 1,258 cases Friday and a 3.64 percent positive test rate. Per capita infections and the positive test rate have been on an encouraging downward trend lately.

The state also saw a 10-patient drop in net coronavirus hospitalizations, which brought the total hospitalized to 985.
