PLAINFIELD, CT — A Killingly High School senior was killed in a crash on I-395 on Monday night, WFSB 3-TV reported. State police have identified the victim as Jane Stockford, 18, of East Killingly.

The accident occurred on I-395 north near Exit 29 in Plainfield on Monday night. Police responded at about 7:30 p.m. to a report of a vehicle off the roadway.

They found Stockford in a vehicle off the right side of the highway near the woods, according to WTNH News-8.

Stockford was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A chief medical examiner’s office investigator responded and took Stockford to their Farmington offices for further examination and to determine the exact cause and manner of death, according to WTNH News-8.

Counselors and social were available for students at Killingly High School on Tuesday and will be available in the coming days. Schools officials said the "tragic and sudden loss will impact all of us," WFSB 3-TV reported.
