CT Toddler Loses 3 Toes In Lawn Mower Accident: Report
The incident occurred Monday in Wolcott, according to authorities.
WOLCOTT, CT — A 1-year-old boy lost three toes on Monday evening when an electric lawn mower operated by his older sister ran over his foot at a home on Munson Road in Wolcott, the Hartford Courant reported.
According to Wolcott Police Chief Edward Stephens, the boy's 10-year-old sister said her brother ran after her in the yard while she was operating the mower. When his leg got under the mower, she reportedly said she did not know how to turn it off.
WFSB-TV reported that the boy slipped while running, adding that the overall severity of the injury was not disclosed.

The father of the children was in the yard at the time and pulled the mower off the boy. Emergency personnel were called to the scene and initially took the child to St. Mary’s Hospital; the boy was then taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for further treatment.
