CT TV News Station Hires Meteorologist

CONNECTICUT — A Connecticut TV station is bringing on a new meteorologist. Anthony Carpino is leaving his job at an Augusta, GA TV station to join the NBC CT team.

"After 4 years at @WRDW_WAGT my time in Augusta will be coming to an end," Carpino said in a tweet. "I'm excited to announce that I'll be headed home to work at @NBCConnecticut as their Weekday Meteorologist! I will always be thankful for the opportunities I've had in Augusta & to our amazing viewers!"

NBC CT Chief Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan tweeted: "Can't wait to have you on the team @WxCarpino!"

Carpino, who is originally from New England, had a stint as a weather intern with NBC CT in 2018. He then joined the Augusta station in 2019 as the weekend morning meteorologist and multimedia journalist, according to his bio. He later moved to weekend evenings and filling in for other meteorologists during the week.

He went to Lyndon State College where he earned degrees in atmospheric science and electronic journalism arts. He gained experience at News 7, where he provided live weather forecasts to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
