CT Weather: Father's Day Weekend Forecast Changes: What You Need To Know

Meteorologists predict the best time for weekend outdoor fun, holiday festivities across Connecticut. Here are the full forecast details.

CONNECTICUT — The holiday weekend is expected to bring yet another bout of precipitation, but forecasters say it will not be a washout and residents can plan outdoor activities on Father’s Day.

Earlier in the week, local meteorologists had originally thought that rain would be more likely on both Saturday and Sunday, but there have been some changes to the forecast.

The weather will remain dry for much of the day Friday, followed by a chance of showers Friday night after sunset, according to WFSB.

Some rain is likely Saturday morning

For the weekend, the “proximity of a stalled frontal boundary to our south will dictate just how unsettled our weather will be,” the station reported.

Showers are expected to continue into the first half of Saturday, WFSB reported, with dry but cloudy conditions on Saturday afternoon.

It will be cooler than normal, with highs in the region only expected to reach into the upper 60s.

Father's Day is tending drier now

WFSB says Father’s Day brings a slight chance for an isolated shower, but WFSB predicts the holiday will be mostly dry. It is expected to be cloudy, with slightly warmer temperatures, reaching into the upper 60s or low 70s.

“While not a washout, this will mean our stretch of weekends with at least a trace of precipitation will continue (this weekend will be #16 in a row),” the station reported. According to WFSB, the last time Connecticut had an entirely dry weekend was back in February.
