Ian's Remnants To Bring Significant Weather Changes This Weekend In CT
Remnants of Ian are expected to bring significant changes to Connecticut's weather forecast this weekend. Here are the new updates.
CONNECTICUT — Friday will be a nice fall day with sunshine and high temperatures into the mid 60s, and then the remnants of Ian will move north and impact the weather this weekend in Connecticut.
"While today is dry, that changes tomorrow," said WFSB 3 TV Chief Meteorologist Mark Dixon with Scot Haney. "Shower chances increase, so plan for some wet weather over the first half of the weekend. It will be raw, with temperatures only peaking in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees! Then, Sunday appears to be mainly dry. With Ian’s remnants moving offshore in tandem with high pressure to our northwest, a breezy, onshore flow develops. This keeps us primarily cloudy, also cool with highs near 60." Up to an inch of rain is forecast for Saturday, with winds gusting to 30 mph on Sunday.

The National Weather Service said it's still unclear exactly how much rain may fall in Connecticut, as it will depend on the track of Ian and how close remnants of the storm come to the state. Coastal areas of the state may see in excess of two inches of rain, while far northern areas may see the least amount of precipitation.
