Snow Accumulation Estimates Released For CT: Here's What You Need To Know
The National Weather Service released details on how much snow Connecticut may receive and the timing on when it will commence this weekend.
CONNECTICUT — Just in time for the holidays, it looks like most of us will wake up Monday morning with a little snow on the ground in Connecticut.
This certainly doesn't look like a blockbuster snow event, but a general 1-3 inches of snow accumulation is forecast for most of Connecticut. Areas at the immediate coast may see less, a dusting or coating of snow is forecast here, according to the National Weather Service.
On Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Hartford County, saying 2-4 inches of snow may accumulate by Monday morning. And a winter weather advisory has been issued for Litchfield County on Sunday as 3-5 inches of snow may accumulate. No other advisories have been issued for the remainder of the state.

Southern Connecticut forecast details via the National Weather Service:
"...a period of light snow is likely Sunday night for interior areas, mainly the Lower Hudson Valley and Southern Connecticut. Precipitation will likely remain entirely rain for the coastal areas to the south, including the NYC metro and Long Island but there remains a chance that some snow mixes in with the rain at the tail end of the event as the precipitation pulls out of the area late Sunday night. The Lower Hudson Valley may see 1-3 inches of snowfall, with Interior Southern Connecticut seeing 1-2 inches. Areas closer to the immediate coast will likely not see accumulating snow, though a dusting of snow on cooler surface(s) can`t be entirely ruled out."

Northern Connecticut forecast details via the National Weather Service:
The weather service said the highest elevations may see a maximum of 2-3 inches of snow, and "we have growing confidence in the likelihood of 1-3" of snowfall across the far western reaches..." An inch or two of snow is forecast in more eastern parts of the region, the weather service said.
"Roads may be slick in areas that receive accumulations closer to 3", thus, commuters should be aware of the possibility of slippery conditions during the Monday AM commute," the weather service said.
