CT Weather: Mother's Day Weekend Forecast Takes A Turn For The Worse
Better weather is expected on Monday, the weather service said.
CONNECTICUT — The Mother's Day weekend weather forecast has taken a turn for the worse. Yes, rain was expected on Friday and Saturday, but initially Mother's Day was supposed to be sunny and temperatures in the low 60s.
Well, that forecast has changed. Mother's Day itself now looks mostly cloudy with a chance of morning rain showers, and temperatures will be chilly with highs only in the mid 50s.
"Unsettled weather is expected from late this morning through Saturday as low pressure passes south of the area. Rainfall amounts will range anywhere from 1 to 2 inches. Additional showers will be possible for Mother's Day," the weather service said.

Areas in northern Connecticut are expected to receive lower rain amounts but clouds will dominate here too.

The rain will begin more toward late afternoon and evening and it will be very light, the weather service said. The steadiest and heaviest rain is forecast to be in the overnight hours, the weather service said.
The rain on Saturday will be lighter but it will get windy with gusts reaching 25-30 mph, especially near the coast.
"...Saturday will be unseasonably cool, with highs not climbing out of the lower 50s. There may even be some locations that do not make it out of the upper 40s. Normal highs this time of year are closing in on 70 in the city and upper 60s elsewhere," the weather service added.
The high temperature on Sunday will approach 55 degrees but it will also be windy making it feel cooler.
Better weather, of course, is expected on Monday and through the upcoming work week where sunshine and warmer temperatures dominate.
