New Details On Snow Accumulation Estimates, Timeline Released For CT
More snow is also forecast on Sunday too. Here are the new snowy details and what we can expect.
In an update, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for northern sections of Litchfield County from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday.
"Total snow accumulations between 2 and 9 inches," according to the weather service. "Areas of snow will bring light to locally moderate snowfall accumulations to all of eastern New York and western New England tonight into tomorrow night. However, the terrain within the Advisory area will enhance snowfall, thereby increasing the potential for more widespread moderate and possibly locally heavy accumulations, especially across the Southern Greens in Southern Vermont."
No other advisories have been issued for Connecticut.

And in northern Connecticut, 1 to 2 inches of snow is possible on Saturday and another 1 to 2 inches of snow is forecast on Sunday.
Original post: A new round of snow is expected to start falling in Connecticut Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Timeline for snow on Saturday
It predicts snow will develop in the western part of the state between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., followed by a lull, then additional snowfall on Saturday afternoon.
Snow accumulation estimates for Saturday
Overall, between one and three inches of snow accumulation is expected in Connecticut on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service’s Boston office.
The north and western part of the state will see the higher totals, while the eastern and coastal areas will see less, it predicts.
WFSB is calling Saturday a “First Alert Weather Day,” due to the anticipated snow.
“It should begin before daybreak then taper/end during the afternoon hours,” WFSB reports.
WFSB also predicts between one and three inches of snowfall, and it cautions that “travel across the state will be impacted.”
WTNH meteorologists say Saturday’s snowfall will end by late afternoon. The station predicts the same snowfall totals, but says some spots may get up to four inches.
“A coating to around 3″ is the full range and the highest in (northwest Connecticut), with some isolated 4″ totals there,” WTNH reports. “Very little for (southeast Connecticut).”
More snow possible on Sunday
According to WTNH, a storm passes just to the east of the state on Sunday, making some additional light snow possible.
WFSB as of Friday morning is also predicting this storm system will bring light snow Sunday afternoon. A change in the storm’s track could change Sunday’s forecast, however, WFSB reports.
“Keep in mind, if this system were to shift west, there would be a greater chance for snow in CT (or parts of CT),” WFSB reports.
Martin Luther King Day on Monday is expected to be sunny and dry, with high temperatures in the low 30s, according to the National Weather Service.
