The National Weather Service has released a timeline for when Connecticut may see severe weather on Sunday. Here are the new details.
CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the entire state on Sunday as there is a chance for strong-to-severe thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening.
In an updated message, the weather service said for southern Connecticut, there is a "slight risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The primary threat is damaging wind gusts, but large hail and an isolated brief tornado are not entirely ruled out."
For Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties, the weather service said, "A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible today between 3 pm and midnight with the greatest potential near and south of the Massachusetts turnpike. The main risk is for localized strong to damaging straight line wind gusts and small hail. There is a low probability for a brief tornado too."
