Snow Accumulation Estimates Increase Again: Here Are The Latest Numbers For CT
Some parts of Connecticut may receive up to seven inches of snow, according to forecasters. Here are the new details.
A few days ago the weather forecast featured talk of a coastal storm that was likely going to miss us in its entirety on Sunday, and as of this morning meteorologists are now predicting up to seven inches of accumulation in parts of Connecticut.
What began a couple of days of ago as a predicted 1-2 inch snowfall, increased on Saturday to 2 to 4 and is now at 3 to 5 inches, and some areas in Middlesex and New London counties could receive up to seven inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
"Snow will begin around or just after daybreak, with snow showers continuing through the morning," according to WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Snowfall intensifies in the afternoon, with 1″ per hour snowfall rates possible. With air temperatures tomorrow hovering around freezing, it will be a heavy, wet snow. The storm should move out by midnight, and we’ll be dry to start the week.

WFSB 3 TV meteorologists are forecasting 3 to 6 inches of snow in their latest snow map, WTNH News 8 is estimating 4 to 6 inches of snow, NBC CT is predicting 3 to 5 inches for most of the state and lower amounts in Litchfield County, and Fox 61 TV is forecasting 2 to 6 inches statewide.

Fairfield County:
A winter weather advisory is in effect until midnight. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. "There may be a lull snowfall activity during the afternoon today."

New Haven, Middlesex and New London County:
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 4 a.m. Monday. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. Isolated amounts up to 7 inches are possible in northern New London and northern Middlesex Counties. Precipitation may start off as a rain/snow mix at the coast. By late this afternoon all snow is expected. The bulk of the accumulation is expected to be after 5 pm today.

Hartford CT-Tolland CT-Windham CT:
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. until 7 a.m. Monday. Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches.
"Periods of light snow develop Sunday morning and persist into the afternoon. The steadiest snow and the worst of the travel conditions will be late Sunday afternoon and night.
Litchfield County:
