Timeline For Thunderstorms Released, Major Weather Changes On The Way For CT

Forecasters say major changes are coming to Connecticut's weather forecast, and there are also a few chances for thunderstorms this week.

CONNECTICUT — Let's begin with the good news. After Tuesday, the seemingly forever heat wave comes to an end.

But before we get to the "good news," we'll have to keep an eye to the sky Tuesday afternoon for the chance for thunderstorms and we'll have to deal with excessively high heat once again.

A heat advisory is in effect statewide until 8 p.m. and it could feel as hot as 104 degrees, the National Weather Service cautioned.

He also said that thunderstorms may develop anytime after 2 p.m. and the chance diminishes after 9 p.m. He advised that "Some storms could have a strong wind gust & lots of lightning!" (Read more of the WTNH News 8 weather forecast here).
