CT Woman’s Leg Bitten Off By Shark In Turks And Caicos: Police
The 22-year-old woman was listed in serious condition after being attacked by a shark in the Turks and Caicos Islands, according to police.
CONNECTICUT — A 22-year-old Connecticut woman’s leg was bitten off by a shark while snorkeling outside a resort in the Turks and Caicos Islands, according to police.
The woman was listed in serious condition Wednesday at the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, according to a news release from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.
Police said the victim and a friend were snorkeling in the waters outside Blue Haven Resort when they attacked by a shark on Wednesday afternoon.

An employee at a resort in the area of the Leeward Marina, Providenciales, called police around 3:05 p.m. requesting ambulance assistance, according to police.
The employee indicated that the woman had her leg bitten off by a shark, police said.

Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, along with an ambulance, were dispatched to the location, according to police.
