Patient Death, Violations At 29 CT Hospitals Revealed In Database
The violations were found at the time of inspection at Connecticut hospitals and the reports are published by the Connecticut Health I-Team

No one wants to go the hospital, but if you do or if a loved one needs to, you're likely going to want to check out this updated searchable in-depth database prepared by the Connecticut Health-Investigative Team. Newly released inspection reports from state health officials reveal violations at numerous hospitals that compromised patient safety, C-HIT reports.
The inspection reports are from 2016 through September 2018. Hospitals with several violations include Bridgeport Hospital, 26, and Hartford Hospital, 60. Two violations preceded patient deaths at Hartford Hospital, according to C-HIT.
In one incident at Bridgeport Hospital, a surgeon ended up burning a patient by using an electrical surgery device along with a flammable surgical preparatory solution, C-HIT reports. The surgeon in this case was working on three surgeries at the same time, the report notes.

During a surgery at Hartford Hospital a piece of a broken needle was left inside the patient's body, according to C-HIT. After each violation, hospitals are required to take corrective action and devise plans, which you can view in the C-HIT database.
In the first of its kind, the C-HIT team in 2016 compiled a massive database of every hospital in Connecticut and includes reports of violations found during inspections. Now, the C-HIT team has just updated the database. In this database you can read the entire inspection report and violation along with the hospital's corrective action.
